Different projects in many biotechnology fields were run in our department:

•    Capacity building project to establish tissue culture laboratory, (460,000 EGP) funded by Beni-Suef University. PI: Walaa Hozayen Status: on going (April, 2017 – present)

•    Unraveling the diversity and important functional attributes of endophytes associated with selected medicinal crops from South Africa and Egypt, (950,000 EGP), Joint Egypt (STDF)-South Africa (NRF) Scientific Cooperation, International Cooperation Grants-2016. PI: Mai M. Raslan Status: on going (08/2017-present)

•    A study of the effect of mutations in the host factor double stranded RNA activated protein kinase on the interferon response of HCV infection in Egyptian patients (genotype 4), (200,000 EGP), National Research institute.  Co-PI: Amr El-Sayed Ahmed Status: on going

•    Possible Involvement of Peroxisome Proliferator Activated Receptor-γ in Nanoparticles-Induced Organ Damage, (100,000 EGP), National projects funded by Beni-Suef University. Co-PI: Walaa Hozayen Status: on going

•    Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of new aryl urea compounds of potential kinase inhibition activity, (50,000 EGP) funded from Beni-Suef University for competitive research project. PI: Ahmed Zakaria Abdelazem Status: on going

•    Target Nano dosage form for treatment of chronic Bacterial Prostatitis, (50,000 EGP) funded by Beni-Suef University. PI: Walaa Hozayen Status: on going

•    Production and characterization of vaccine candidate for Enterohemorrhagic E. coli by using reverse vaccinology approach, (40,000 EGP) funded by Beni-Suef University.  PI: Khaled El-nesr and Project manager: Eman G. Youssef Status: on going

•    Anti-Hepatitis C Viral activities of Some Natural Phenolic Compounds, (40,000 EGP), funded by Beni-Suef University. PIMai M. Raslan Status: on going (03/2015-present)

•    Antidiabetic Activity of Zinc Oxide and Curcumin Nanoparticles on Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats, (80,000 EGP) funded by National Research Center, Mai M. Raslan is researcher  Status: on going (10/2016-present)
