Under the patronage of Prof. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, and the supervision of Prof. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Prof. Diaa El-Din Mostafa, Dean of the Faculty, and Prof. Fatma Ahmed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, a training course was held on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at the Faculty of Applied Arts to introduce students to the latest and most important computer programs that support the faculty’s various specializations.
The course was delivered by Associate Professor Noha Ali Radwan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Textile Printing, Dyeing and Finishing, and a member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee. She presented the latest developments and modern digital software related to the textile field and their applications for textile designers in factories using artificial intelligence technology, highlighting their role in all stages of design and production.
The training course also featured a lecture by Dr. Mohamed Fathy, Lecturer in the Industrial Design Department and a member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Committee. He explained the requirements for running modern design software, available free licenses for students, and the specifications of suitable laptops for working on advanced design programs. He also clarified the differences between new and used devices and how to test a used laptop before purchasing it. In addition, he introduced students to the most important free professional licenses and programs available to them—such as design, engineering, and programming packages—and how to use them across different devices, including laptops, mobile phones, and tablets. He also explained the steps to obtain these resources using the university email, along with the key computer programs that serve the faculty’s different specializations.
At the end of the session, the floor was opened for questions and discussion, with an emphasis on the importance of utilizing these free tools to enhance students’ skills and prepare them for both academic and professional work environments.
