President of Beni-Suef University : Research Project at Faculty of Pharmacy on the use of nanotechnology to treat skin cancer gets Egyptian-American grant of 6 million pounds

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni-Suef University, announced the success of a research project at the Faculty of Pharmacy, consisting of the main researcher Dr. Heba Farouk Salem, Professor of Pharmacology and Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and the assistant team Prof. Dr. Osama Sayed Zein, Lecturer at the faculty, Dr. Amr Gamal Fouad and Dr. Haitham Saeed, Assistant Teachers at the faculty and getting an Egyptian-American grant from Science and Technological Development Fund of the Ministry of Higher Education of 6 million pounds for the completion of a research project to treat skin cancer using nanotechnology technology to work on the discovery of new receptors.

The University President said that the Fund and the American side chose the research from a large number of researches as one of the best distinguished research projects, using nanotechnology technology in the medical field for cancer treatment, pointing out that the university's success in a number of research projects increases university's ranking at the local, regional and the international levels, especially as the university aims to reach a distinguished position among the ranks of international universities, as the first university at the local level according to '' Times' Classification'' .

Dr. Heba Farouk added that the project will be carried out through an international partnership with a research team headed by Dr. Belekia at the University of California, USA. The research team has the expertise to make the project come out as soon as possible, which will produce innovative formulations which will not be  only able to support studies to discover receptors for treatment of skin cancer but they also can be used to treat other kinds of cancer.
