Reducing the phenomenon of violence among teenagers
Throughout life, a person passes through many stages characterized by development and renewal. One of the most important and critical of these stages is childhood, which is the cornerstone of human development and personality formation. Given the importance of this stage, it is essential to highlight the major dangers children face and the negative impacts this stage has on the individual, the family, and society. With the advancement of psychological and human sciences, it has become common knowledge that negative phenomena such as violence are widespread in society. Violence and child abuse are not confined to a specific place or time; they take many forms and manifest in various ways. Egyptian society, like others, is not immune to incidents of violence against children perpetrated by their parents, teachers, caregivers, and peers. Attention to adolescence is one of the most important indicators of a society's progress and development. This attention is, in reality, an investment in the future of the nation. Preparing and nurturing adolescents in all aspects is preparation for facing the civilizational challenges imposed by the demands of the rapid development and change we are experiencing today. As for the negative effects left by abuse and violence, they are of two types: temporary effects such as sleep disturbance, anxiety, depression, aggressive behavior, academic decline, and regression to previous age stages such as bedwetting, thumb sucking, decreased emotional and negative responses, and extreme fear of interacting with others. In the long term, there is no doubt that abuse may leave clear marks on the child's personality when he grows up, so you find him anxious, tense, moody, lacking self-confidence, suffering from various types of personality disorders, difficulty in social adaptation and forming intimate relationships with family and peers, and he may tend towards aggression and resentment towards society. Among some of these individuals, it is common in the future to indulge in alcohol and drugs, as well as attempt suicide for the most trivial reasons. Moreover, a number of these people repeat the same previous experience with their children, thus producing a generation that is morally and psychologically unhealthy and characterized by aggression.
