IT Unit Services

The Electronic Services Unit at the Faculty of Pharmacy was established in October 2013 as part of the second phase of the university’s e-units project. It was initially managed by Dr. Abeer Sayed Mowad, a lecturer in the Department of Pharmacognosy. The unit has demonstrated outstanding performance at the university level, consistently achieving over 90% in quarterly technical evaluations since its inception.

The unit provides the following services:

  1. Enhancing the Efficiency of the Digital Library

    • Managing user accounts for the digital library at the faculty.
    • Faculty members, postgraduate students, and researchers are trained to create accounts on Google Scholar, which helps students and researchers access studies, abstracts, and scientific research in various fields.

  2. Upgrading and Maintaining IT Infrastructure

    • Supervising maintenance for computers and related equipment.
    • Analyzing system failures and malfunctions, identifying weaknesses, and proposing suitable solutions.
    • Preparing periodic reports on the condition of computers and laboratories at the faculty.
  3. Regulating Software Usage and Enhancing Cybersecurity

    • Installing original software and updating antivirus programs.
    • Maintaining computers and printers or supervising maintenance contracts.
  4. Developing the Educational Process through Digital Learning

    • Promoting e-learning courses and providing technical consultations and training.
    • Faculty members are trained to upload learning materials to the university’s online learning portal.

    • Activating and managing the university email service for official correspondence between students and faculty members.

    • Training students and faculty members on how to effectively use the portal for academic and administrative purposes.
