Prof. Dr. Hanan Ashry - Director of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit at the College of Social Development were lectured.
The symposium addressed various forms of bullying, including verbal, physical, psychological, and cyber bullying, with a focus on the negative effects this behavior has on the victim, including loss of confidence, isolation, and sometimes psychological breakdown. It also highlighted the growing phenomenon of bullying and its profound impact on individuals, particularly among young people.
The speakers also emphasized that Islamic law prohibits all forms of harm, backbiting, slander, condemns mockery, insult, and belittling others. God Almighty says:
“O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them.” Al-Hujurat: 11
As the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself,” which is a clear call to respect, love, and consideration for the feelings of others.
The symposium noted that all divine religions call for good morals such as tolerance, mercy, and justice, and that bullying does not demonstrate the bully's strength, but rather reflects a flaw in upbringing and awareness.
The role of the family, the teacher, and the educational environment in instilling positive values ??and building a balanced personality capable of respecting others, speaking kindly, and avoiding verbal and behavioral violence was also emphasized.
