The Dean of the Faculty of Science Honors Green Stone Team for Winning an International Entrepreneurship Award
Professor Dr. Wael Nabil Hazin, Dean of the Faculty of Science at Beni Suef University, honored the Green Stone team in recognition of their achievement in winning the International Plan Award in the Egypt Entrepreneurship Rally 2025, representing the Faculty of Science and Beni Suef University at the national level.
The Dean praised the distinguished level of the project, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the students’ awareness of sustainability and environmental issues, and their ability to present innovative solutions aligned with the Egyptian state’s efforts to confront climate change and support the green economy. He also stressed the faculty administration’s commitment to supporting talented and creative students and promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among students.
He expressed his pride in the faculty’s students and wished them continued success and further achievements that contribute to raising the name of the faculty and the university.
It is worth mentioning that the “Green Stone” project, representing the Faculty of Science and Beni Suef University, achieved remarkable success by winning the International Plan Award worth 75,000 EGP during the Egypt Entrepreneurship Rally, organized by the National Entrepreneurship Center at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, under the patronage of the Egyptian Academy of Scientific Research and the Fund for Innovation and Talent Support at the Ministry of Higher Education, with the participation of more than 50 teams from public, private, and national universities.
The winning project focuses on the sustainable production of bio-cement through the circular utilization of mollusk shells, diatoms, and fungal systems, in line with the Egyptian state’s strategy for achieving sustainable development and providing environmentally friendly solutions.
The Green Stone team includes:

• Dr. Osama Aweis – Assistant Lecturer, Parasitology and Invertebrates Division, Department of Zoology and Chemistry
• Dr. Ola Abdelaziz – Associate Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, Department of Environmental Sciences and Industrial Development
