Precision farming is a farming management practice with a potentiality to solve some of management problems based on observing and measuring field crops variability using more accurate and timely information of agricultural resources. Remote sensing facilities are perfect tools to assess the land cover, crop situation and status as well as their changes. This work aimed to identify management zones for potato crop using precision farming management practices. The following major technological components were used for that purpose were GIS, GPS, sensors, soil sampling, yield monitoring and crop growth models. The results showed that yield estimations have a significant correlation coefficient with field measurements. Also both soil suitability and potato growth models were successfully employed to simulate plant indices effect on canopy structure and final yield. The performance of Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and the Soil Adjusted Vegetation Index (SAVI) were successfully tested with the measured and predicted data of yield.
