President of Beni Suef University witnesses the celebration of International White Cane Day and honors talented people of determination

Today, Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, witnessed the celebration of the International White Cane Day, organized by the Faculty of Special Needs Science, in cooperation with Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Hanan Soliman, Member Senate, Prof. Dr. Heba Abu El-Nile, Dean of the College, a number of university and administrative leaders, students of Al-Noor Schools for the Blind and Al-Amal Schools for the Deaf, and a group of talented people of determination.

The celebration activities began with organizing a student march with the white cane, which started from the university entrance to the administration building, led by the university president, and in which the university students with visual impairments and students of Al-Noor School for the Blind in Beni Suef participated. The celebration included many artistic, lyrical and poetic shows that were performed by students with visual disabilities, in addition to a play by students of Al-Amal School for those with hearing disabilities.

The university president explained that the aim of the celebration was to emphasize the importance of supporting students with visual impairment, knowing their needs, and highlighting the latest developments in the field of dealing with visual impairment, including modern and advanced devices and publications, in addition to praising their achievements and working to integrate them into society.
On the sidelines of the celebration, Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan inaugurated an exhibition of distinguished graduation projects for college graduates, and another exhibition concerned with the sports and entertainment field for people with visual disabilities, which includes many electronic tools and applications provided by the university to ensure the quality of the educational process for students of determination.
Then, Dr. Heba Abu El-Nile honored Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan for his full and continuous support to the college, and the university president also honored the winners of the competition for talented people of determination launched by the College of Special Needs Science in cooperation with the College of Applied Arts; 12 children less than 15 years from inside and outside Egypt.
