Cooperation protocol between Beni Suef University and the National Council for Women to equip Safe Women Unit

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, and Dr. Maya Morsi, President of the National Council for Women, signed a cooperation protocol to equip the Safe Women Unit and the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit inside the university.
Prof. Dr. Mansour stated that the protocol terms include supporting Anti-Violence Against Women Unit to undertake the development and training of employees, students and faculty members on the topics, concepts and mechanisms of combating violence against women, preparing and developing distinguished human cadres in this field, providing scientific, social and legal support, and preparing researches, studies and scientific competitions, technical activities related to the protection of women from all forms of violence and their development in all economic, social and environmental fields in line with the achievement of sustainable development goals.

The university president added that the protocol also includes contributing to the preparation of the safe women's unit to deal with women who have been subjected to violence inside the university hospital and equipping it with all capabilities, in addition to providing technical support for capacity building training courses for health service providers in the field of violence against women. 

Narmin Mahmoud, rapporteur of the National Council for Women’s branch in Beni Suef, praised the important role played by the university under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan in terms of attention to issues related to the issue of women’s empowerment and that Beni Suef University is one of the leading universities in taking care of the file of combating violence against women and girls through all its units in general and the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital in particular, stressing that the university has witnessed many achievements that are a milestone in its history, more than 130 women leaders were able to participate in decision-making positions within the university, which they had not witnessed before.
