"Cyber ??blackmail and methods of combating it" - an awareness seminar at Beni Suef University

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the university's Anti-Violence Unit organized an awareness seminar entitled "Electronic Blackmail and Ways to Combat It" in cooperation with the Faculty of Commerce, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. This was under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Eid Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Soha Salah, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the University's Anti-Violence Unit, in the presence of Dr. Jumana Ramadan, Law Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Deputy Director of the Anti-Violence Unit.

Dr. Tariq explained that the seminar witnessed the representation of a delegation from the Standing Committee for Combating Violence in the governorate, which included the Women’s Affairs Office at the governorate’s general office and the preaching area, reflecting the joint cooperation between the university and community bodies in supporting awareness issues and combating violence in all its forms, within the framework of the university’s efforts to promote digital culture, spread awareness of methods of confronting electronic blackmail, in addition to highlighting social issues that represent a form of violence directed against women, in addition to the legal aspect related to electronic blackmail laws.

The day’s events also included a theatrical performance by an interactive theater team from the Better Life Association for Development and Training, about the issue of child marriage, with the aim of raising community awareness of the dangers of this practice and its negative effects on girls and society.
