Guide for Authors

Submission:

The submission of manuscripts is only acceptable via the electronic submission system through the (BIJHSS) website or sent by E-mail to bsu_ijhss@bsu.edu.eg   bsu.ihss@gmail.com 

Submission of a manuscript indicates that the paper has not been published, nor is under consideration for publication with other journals. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the article's publication has been approved by all the other co-authors. It is also the authors' responsibility to ensure that the articles emanating from a particular institution are submitted with the approval of the necessary institution.

Is preferred submit a manuscript as a single file a Word document to be used in the refereeing process , It should contain high enough quality figures for refereeing. If you prefer to do so, you may still provide all or some of the source files at the initial submission. Please note that individual figure files larger than 10 MB must be uploaded separately.

Tables and figures must be presented with captions within the main body of the manuscript in a single Microsoft Word file. Please ensure the figures and the tables included in the single file are placed next to the relevant text in the manuscript, rather than at the bottom or the top of the file.

Language:

Please write your manuscript in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture). Authors who feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors are asked to use any English language editing service.

Reviewing

All manuscripts are subject to peer review, This journal operates a double blind review process. All contributions will be initially assessed by the editor for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The Editor is responsible for the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of articles. The Editor's decision is final.

Publishing Ethics

The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society of society-owned or sponsored journals.

Plagiarism: 
Plagiarism is globally recognized as a serious academic offence. As part of our commitment to the protection and enhancement of the peer review process, editors assist the scientific community in all aspects of publishing ethics, especially in cases of (suspected) duplicate submission or plagiarism.

Preparation of Tables

Tables should be cited consecutively in the text. Every table must have a descriptive title and if numerical measurements are given, the units should be included in the column heading. Vertical rules should not be used.

Preparation of Figures

Upon submission of an article, authors are supposed to include all figures and tables in the WORD file of the manuscript. Figures and tables should not be submitted in separate files. All figures should be cited in the paper in a consecutive order.

White Space:      Minimum

pica (1.5 pica between 2 columns) x 57 lines (justified) excluding running heads.

Abstract

The manuscript must contain an abstract. The abstract should be self-contained and citation-free and should not exceed 200 words.

Keywords

The manuscript should contain five keywords at most.

Introduction

State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Material and methods

Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.

Discussion

This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Conclusions

The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which may stand alone or form a subsection of a Discussion or Results and Discussion section.

Appendices

If there is more than one appendix, they should be identified as A, B, etc. Formulae and equations in appendices should be given separate numbering: Eq. (A.1), Eq. (A.2), etc.; in a subsequent appendix, Eq. (B.1) and so on. Similarly for tables and figures: Table A.1; Fig. A.1, etc.

References

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each reference is complete and accurate. Reference style = ‘APA’ (American Psychological Association)

Text: Citations in the text should follow the referencing style used by the American Psychological Association. You are referred to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth Edition,

List: References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically, if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters “a”, “b”, “c”, etc., placed after the year of publication.

Reference management software

Is preferred to use Reference management software .These include all products that support Citation Style Language styles, such as Endnote, Mendeley and Zotero, as well as EndNote. Using the word processor plug-ins from these products, authors only need to select the appropriate journal template when preparing their article, after which citations and bibliographies will be automatically formatted in the journal's style.
