Beni-Suef University Students Participate in Awareness Camp on Combating Cyber Violence and Promoting Positive Behavior

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, announced that a group of the university’s students took part in an awareness camp focused on promoting positive behavior among university students, addressing cyber violence, and learning protection methods. The event was organized in cooperation with the University’s Anti-Violence and Discrimination Unit.

The camp’s activities were held at the Faculty of Commerce Theater under the supervision of Dr. Eid Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty, and at the university’s sports fields under the supervision of Captain Mohamed Farouk, General Director of Youth Welfare. The event was attended by Dr. Jumana Ramadan, Deputy Director of the Anti-Violence Unit, and Dr. Amani Ahmed, Unit Coordinator at the Faculty of Social Work.

Lectures were delivered by Ms. Ghada Al-Samman, Director of Branches Administration at the National Council for Women; Ms. Nermeen Mahmoud, Rapporteur of the National Council for Women; Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the University’s Anti-Violence Unit; Ms. Amal Gamal, Representative of the Women’s Complaints Office at the National Council for Women in Beni-Suef; and Dr. Basma Ramadan from Beni-Suef Technological University.

The Acting President emphasized that the camp featured a wide variety of activities, including specialized seminars addressing important social issues, as well as sports and recreational programs aimed at fostering cooperation and positive interaction among students. He stressed the importance of such camps in creating a safe university environment free from all forms of violence and discrimination, highlighting the vital role played by the National Council for Women in promoting awareness and tolerance.

The activities also shed light on ways to combat harassment in public spaces and provided legal awareness on key legislative amendments designed to protect women from all forms of violence, particularly cyber violence. In addition, sessions were organized to raise awareness about confronting rumors, exploring strategies to counter them, and addressing their negative impact on both individuals and society.
