The Faculty of Mass Communication at Beni Suef University organizes a workshop on investigative journalism and the use of open sources

Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of University, the Faculty of Mass Communication at Beni Suef University organized a training workshop for first and second grade students entitled “Investigative Journalism and the Use of Open Sources,” under the supervision of Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayyid, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Mona Hashem, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. It was lectured by Mr. Mohamed Kamal, researcher and lecturer in cybercrime investigations and a specialist in information security, in the presence of a number of faculty members, supporting body, employees and students.
The workshop dealt with how to use search tools on the Internet, how to collect data from open sources, and presented an introduction to the Internet and the Web, advanced search on Google, and modern tools in digital journalism such as tools for verifying information and images, in addition to trying these tools with students in a practical way.
It is worth noting that this workshop comes within a series of workshops held by the college for students, which aim to develop their capabilities to keep pace with modern technological developments, and learn how to use the most important applications of artificial intelligence in creating journalistic and media content.
