A medical team at Beni Suef University Hospitals successfully removed a massive abdominal tumor weighing 22 kilograms.

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced the success of a medical team at Beni Suef University Hospitals in removing a huge abdominal tumor from a patient at the university hospital. This comes within the framework of the continuous efforts made by the university hospitals, headed by Professor Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the hospitals, and Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of the university hospitals, to serve patients and provide the necessary medical care, under the supervision of Dr. Hisham Salem, Professor of General Surgery and Consultant of General Surgery, and Dr. Tamer Nabil, Professor of General Surgery and Endoscopic Surgery and Head of the Department of General Surgery at the hospital.
Dr. Tarek Ali, the university president, explained that the tumor weighed more than 22 kilograms, with estimated dimensions of 20 x 30 cm. This achievement comes within the framework of the continuous efforts made by university hospitals to provide the best levels of health care for patients. The case was dealt with high precision and distinguished expertise to ensure the patient's safety and avoid any possible complications. This success is clear evidence of the efficiency of the medical staff at Beni Suef University hospitals, and of the continuous development in the level of medical services provided, which enhances the university's position as a leading medical center in Upper Egypt.
Dr. Hani Hamed explained that the tumor was connected to the superior mesenteric artery and the superior mesenteric vein, which are major blood vessels supplying the intestines. The tumor was successfully separated from them. The medical team consisted of Dr. Abdulaziz Zain Al-Abidin, Assistant Professor of General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, Dr. Abdul-Halim, Lecturer of General Surgery, Oncology and Endoscopy Surgery, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Hassan, Assistant Lecturer of General Surgery, Dr. Khaled Baghdadi, and Dr. Ahmed Omar, as well as distinguished anesthesiologists and nursing staff.
Dr. Emad El-Banna pointed out that this success reflects the great progress in the level of health services provided within Beni Suef University hospitals, and the extent of the readiness of university hospitals to deal with complex cases, and highlights the vital role played by medical staff, including professors and consultants, in providing advanced health care, supported by the necessary technical and human capabilities.
