Beni-Suef University’s Faculty of Nursing Launches the “Women’s Empowerment and Ending Violence” Event on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women11 Dec 2025Media Center The Faculty of Nursing at Beni-Suef University, through its Department of Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing, organized an event titled “Women’s Empowerment and Ending Violence: Together for a Safe Future,” coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The event was held under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, and supervised by Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Hanan Al-Zaballawi, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Sherine Sherif, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Amani Arafat, Head of the Department; and Dr. Samar Zeidan, the event coordinator. The event was attended by several faculty members and students. Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that the university’s support for this event reflects its active societal role and its responsibility to raise awareness of national and global issues. He affirmed that women’s empowerment is a fundamental pillar in building a stable and productive society, and that eliminating all forms of violence against women is a key objective pursued through continuous education and awareness initiatives. He also highlighted the importance of institutional and academic cooperation in providing a safe and supportive environment for female students and faculty members. Dr. Hanan Al-Zaballawi expressed her satisfaction with the event’s success and strong participation, noting that the Faculty of Nursing places great importance on women’s health—physically, psychologically, and in terms of their societal rights. She added that the seminar included a significant discussion on “Women’s Rights in Society,” aimed at highlighting the vital roles played by women and the need to protect them from any negative practices. She concluded by extending her appreciation to all leaders and organizers for their efforts in making the event a success.
