“A Fit Body… with Nutritional Awareness”: An Awareness Initiative at Beni Suef University to Promote Health Culture Among Students

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Department of Sports Health Sciences at the Faculty of Sports Sciences launched a distinguished awareness initiative entitled “A Fit Body… with Nutritional Awareness.” The initiative was implemented under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Ragaa, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Hussein Ahmed, Head of the Department of Sports Health Sciences.

The University President explained that the initiative aims to raise awareness among university students about the importance of practicing sports and following a healthy diet. He noted that this initiative is part of the university’s strategy to promote health awareness and enhance nutritional culture among students, reflecting the university community’s commitment to positive health behaviors. He emphasized that sport and proper nutrition are two fundamental pillars for building a generation capable of productivity, reaffirming the university’s continued support for such purposeful initiatives.

The Dean of the Faculty indicated that the initiative’s activities included an educational exhibition with multiple sections, comprising five main areas: an anatomy corner, a massage tools and devices corner, a health and nutrition awareness corner, a posture assessment devices corner, and a modern equipment corner.

The initiative also featured field meetings conducted by students of the Training and Sports Management Department with university leaders and students from various faculties to explore their views on the importance of sports and proper nutrition in daily life.

As part of the scientific component, awareness lectures were held addressing the relationship between proper nutrition and athletic performance. These lectures were delivered by Dr. Khaled Askar, Professor of Genetics at the Faculty of Agriculture, who highlighted the role of nutrition in building athletic champions and achieving physical excellence.
