Mass Communication faculty in Beni Suef is organizing a scientific seminar entitled "Correct Your Misconceptions" to promote community awareness.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and within the framework of the societal and enlightening role undertaken by academic institutions
The Faculty of Mass Communication organized a seminar entitled "Correct Your Misconceptions," as part of an initiative adopted by the Ministry of Religious Endowments which aimed at correcting misconceptions, promoting intellectual awareness, and building an enlightened discourse among young people. The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Mamdouh Makawy, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Abdel-Rahim Darwish, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development. Dr. Nasreen Hossam El-Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, was also in attendance. The seminar featured a lecture by Dr. Mohamed El-Shouky, Professor of Literature at the Faculty of Arts
The university president pointed out that the symposium presented an in-depth scientific presentation that addressed a number of contemporary intellectual and societal issues, stressing that correcting misconceptions is the main entry point for building awareness and confronting erroneous ideas that negatively affect the stability and cohesion of society, while emphasizing the necessity of integration between religious and educational institutions in this regard. Dr. Tariq Ali also noted that the event witnessed remarkable interaction from students and faculty members through opening the door to discussion and posing questions, which directly contributes to consolidating correct concepts and developing critical thinking among young people, in support of the state’s efforts to spread awareness and confront intellectual extremism
For his part, Dr. Mamdouh Makawi expressed his thanks and appreciation to the university administration and the Ministry of Endowments for making this awareness initiative available to students, stressing that the Faculty of Mass Communication is always keen to organize such meetings that go beyond the academic aspect to build the student’s personality and refine his awareness towards the issues of his country. He also urged students to be accurate and obtain information from its official sources, so that they can be a bulwark against rumors and ambassadors of enlightenment in their societies, in order to achieve the strategic goals of the college in serving the community and developing the environment
