The President of Beni Suef University chairs the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, chaired today the meeting of the Supreme Committee for the Anti-Violence Against Women Unit, in the presence of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service, Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the Unit, Mr/Mohamed Selim, General Secretary of the University, and members of the committee

The meeting began with a review of a report on the Unit's activities during the previous period. This included the identification of coordinators for the various faculties, totaling 42 faculty members and teaching assistants. The report also noted the Unit's participation in four interactive training sessions, provided by the National Council for Women, aimed at building the capacity of the Unit's coordinators across the university's faculties
A workshop to train coordinators on how to refer and deal with problems through the Women’s Complaints Office at the headquarters of the National Council for Women’s branch in Beni Suef, and participation in 3 training camps for male and female students, and 31 awareness seminars for university colleges, institutes and university cities and competitions for male and female students, in addition to adding two special axes on women and combating violence on societal issues

The report also included training girls on how to defend themselves, and launching a group of initiatives (including You Are Life, A Whisper in Five, You Are Her Safety, A Word That Mends, A Word That Hurts), in addition to translating the unit's guide into sign language and Braille to reach people with disabilities within the university, as well as the unit's role in receiving complaints related to women and submitting a number of proposals that contribute to supporting women's issues within the university community
