Beni Suef University participates in the sixth annual coordination meeting for units of combating violence against women in universities

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, announced the participation of Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women at the university, and Dr. Jumana Ramadan, a member of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, in the sixth annual coordination meeting for units for combating violence against women in Egyptian universities, which is held under the auspices of the National Council for Women,The United Nations Population Fund and UNICEF, in the presence of a group of university vice presidents and directors of units for combating violence against women in Egyptian universities.
Dr. Mansour confirmed that the forum addressed issues related to violence against women caused by technology in its various forms, protection frameworks, and initial psychological support and its importance in managing the situation of complainants, as follows:
  The aim of holding the forum is cooperation between the National Council for Women and universities, regarding strengthening the role of universities, especially combating violence against women, to implement many activities within the university in order to support and empower women and girls with the aim of providing a safe educational environment on campus.
The university president explained that the goal of establishing the unit to combat violence against women at the university is to ensure the provision of a safe, supportive educational environment for university women and girls free of violence and discrimination, in addition to implementing many activities related to combating violence against women, and activating the role of the executive committee to follow up on the efforts of ministries and governmental bodies related to the national strategy by forming working groups to follow up on implementation at the university level, in addition to organizing training courses to raise the capabilities of women dealing with cases of violence, and training doctors to deal with victims of violence.
