Beni-Suef University Ranks 13th Among Egyptian Universities in the SCImago Institutions Rankings

Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni-Suef University, announced that the university ranked 13th among Egyptian universities and appeared in 17 subject areas in the 2025 SCImago Institutions Rankings, with Energy being the most distinguished field, where the university secured 9th place locally.

He added that the university ranked 11th in Veterinary Science, 16th in Dentistry, 13th in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Toxicology, 13th in Physics and Astronomy, 15th in Economics and Accounting, 17th in Medicine, 19th in Environmental Science, 21st in Business Administration and Accounting, 23rd in Medical Sciences, 24th in Chemistry, 27th in Social Sciences, 28th in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 29th in Mathematics, 29th in Computer Science, and 30th in Agricultural and Biological Sciences.

Dr. Sama El-Daq, Director of the Office for International Rankings and Sustainable Development, noted that the SCImago ranking is based on a composite indicator that combines three sets of metrics: research performance, innovation outputs, and societal impact, which is measured by the visibility of the institution on the web. The ranking not only evaluates scientific research output but also assesses the broader system of innovation and the societal benefits resulting from research activities, according to criteria with varying relative weights.
