Professor Mansour Hassan, President of Beni-Suef University, has announced the results of the 2025 annual evaluation conducted by the Supreme Council of Universities regarding the performance of the university's scientific journals. This announcement comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of scientific research and elevate academic publishing standards. The evaluation process was carried out under the supervision of Professor Tarek Ali, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies, and Professor Maha Ahmed Ibrahim, General Coordinator of the University’s Scientific Journals Unit. The annual evaluation issued by the Supreme Council of Universities is considered a key official reference for assessing journal performance.
This year’s evaluation covered a total of 39 scientific journals—19 published in English and 20 in Arabic—highlighting the university's commitment to diversity in both research scope and cultural expression within its publishing system.
Among the English-language journals, the Beni-Suef Journal of Basic and Applied Sciences (BJBAS) stood out as a model of excellence in international publishing. The journal is indexed in the prestigious Scopus database (Q2 category) and is published by the renowned global publishing house, Springer. In total, 17 of the university’s journals received a top rating of 7 out of 7, representing 94.7% of the English-language submissions—a strong indicator of the academic quality and adherence to rigorous publishing and peer-review standards. The Journal of Health Care Research (JHCR) is currently undergoing re-evaluation after receiving a 6.5 rating.
As for the Arabic-language journals, they demonstrated exceptional performance in the evaluation. Of the 20 journals assessed, 18 achieved the highest rating of 7/7, accounting for 90%. This reflects the continued success of Arabic journals in meeting the standards of credible and scholarly scientific publishing. Two journals—Journal of Archaeological Studies and Research Horizons in Social and Human Sciences—are currently undergoing initial evaluation and review.
Professor Mansour Hassan emphasized that Beni-Suef University is making confident strides toward internationalization by continuously supporting its scientific journals and focusing efforts on achieving wider international indexing. This progress reinforces the university’s position as a leading academic institution in scientific publishing.
