Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, received today Professor Biol Diab, a professor at Paris-Saclay University in France. The meeting comes within the framework of the joint cooperation between Beni Suef University, represented by the Laser Research and Applications Institute, and Paris-Saclay University . This was sponsored by STDF projects. The meeting was attended by Dr. Wafaa Rabie Mohamed,
Dean of the Laser Institute, and Dr. Mohamed Abbas, a researcher at the Institute.
The university president explained that the visit aims to enhance scientific and research cooperation between the two universities within the framework of the partnership between the university's Institute of Laser Research and Applications and Paris-Saclay University , sponsored by the Science and Technological Development Fund (STDF) projects. He pointed out that the meeting discussed ways to develop joint research projects in the field of laser applications and the exchange of academic expertise, which would contribute to supporting scientific innovation and training research personnel, and enhance the university's position in the field of scientific research at the local and international levels.
It is worth noting that Dr. Biol Diab is a distinguished researcher in photons and laser sciences and their applications at Paris- Saclay University . His studies focus on the nonlinear optical properties of some polymers for the manufacture of some crystals used in photons applications. He is also a distinguished researcher in quantum photonics and its applications, through which he works on improving the source of single photons, controlling the spin of single electrons in diamonds, and high-resolution imaging techniques.
Diab has been a referee for more than 84 research papers in laser and photonics sciences, and has co-authored four chapters in valuable books on photonics, laser science, and its applications. He is also the principal supervisor of more than 15 PhD students worldwide, and the principal supervisor of the international master's program in photonics, PhysEnBio, offered by Paris- Saclay University in France.
