Beni Suef University Council approves holding the first international scientific conference at the Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants.

Beni Suef University Council, headed by Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, approved in its 250th session to hold the first scientific conference at the Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants entitled "Medicinal and Aromatic Plants from Production to Consumption" during the period from October 28-29, 2025 at the Conference Center. This was attended by Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, deans of faculties, and members of the Council.
Dr. Tariq Ali explained that the forum aims to enhance scientific and practical knowledge on the techniques of production and consumption of medicinal and aromatic plants, discuss the latest studies and research in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants and their applications, encourage cooperation between researchers and professionals from various relevant disciplines, showcase local and international experiences and expertise in the production, extraction and marketing of medicinal and aromatic plants, identify current challenges and future opportunities in the field of medicinal and aromatic plants, raise awareness of the importance of medicinal and aromatic plants in health and economic development, and search for ways to sustain plant resources and achieve high quality in production and consumption.
The conference's themes include sustainable production of medicinal and aromatic plants, manufacturing and added value of medicinal and aromatic plant products, green chemistry and environmentally friendly extraction, and the use of biotechnology for medicinal and aromatic plants.
