Beni Suef University’s Faculty of Mass Communication Participates in the 9th Scientific Conference of the Modern University (MTI) on Entertainment Industry and Social Responsibility

Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and as part of the University’s commitment to strengthening its academic presence in major scientific forums, Dr. Mamdouh Mekawy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, participated in the 9th Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Mass Communication at the Modern University for Technology and Information (MTI), held under the theme “Media, Entertainment Industry, and Social Responsibility.” The event was attended by a distinguished group of senior academics and experts.

The University President noted that the first scientific session featured Dr. Walid Fathallah, Professor of Media at Cairo University (Chair of the Session); Dr. Mamdouh Mekawy, Dean of Beni Suef University’s Faculty of Mass Communication (Discussant); and Dr. Nahla Ramadan, Lecturer in the Department of Media at the Modern University (Reporter of the Session). He emphasized that the University places great importance on building bridges of research collaboration and experience exchange with various academic institutions, affirming that participation in such scientific conferences helps keep pace with contemporary issues and opens new horizons for researchers. Dr. Tarek Ali also highlighted that the societal role of media constitutes a fundamental pillar amid the rapid digital transformations, stressing the need to formulate scientific perspectives that balance the development of the entertainment industry with the preservation of values and social responsibility, serving Egypt’s sustainable development goals.

For his part, Dr. Mamdouh Mekawy, Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, expressed the Faculty’s pride in participating in this distinguished scientific forum, which addresses one of the most important issues in the field of media. He noted that the Faculty consistently encourages faculty members and researchers to actively engage in conferences exploring the dimensions of media’s social responsibility, particularly in light of the rapid growth of digital platforms and the entertainment industry. He affirmed that this participation aims to enhance academic dialogue and review the latest research papers contributing to the development of media performance and its connection to practical applications.
