Beni Suef University Hospitals Succeed in Performing 18 Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeries in Cooperation with the Egyptian Society of Laparoscopic Surgery

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced the success of the University Hospitals in performing 18 advanced laparoscopic surgeries in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in cooperation with the Egyptian Society of Laparoscopic Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynecology, over the course of two consecutive days. This achievement comes within the framework of a qualitative leap aimed at developing medical services and exchanging scientific expertise with specialized medical entities, under the supervision of Dr. Hany Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the University Hospitals, and Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of the University Hospitals.

Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that this achievement reflects the University’s commitment to its societal role in providing advanced medical services in line with the State’s vision for developing the healthcare system. He noted that the University is keen to continuously introduce the latest surgical technologies and expand avenues of cooperation with major scientific societies, ensuring the provision of highly precise surgical procedures to the residents of the governorate and Upper Egypt in accordance with the highest standards of safety and medical quality.

For his part, Dr. Hany Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, explained that the 18 surgeries performed were distinguished by their diversity and medical complexity. They included hysterectomies and removal of uterine fibroids using laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, correction of congenital uterine anomalies such as uterine septum and T-shaped uterus, removal of polyps and tubal separation, in addition to diagnostic laparoscopic procedures. He pointed out that this cooperation with the Egyptian Society of Laparoscopic Surgery represents a strong addition to the training of the University’s medical staff on the latest international protocols.

In a related context, Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of the Hospitals, expressed his pride in the outstanding performance of the medical teams, affirming that reliance on advanced laparoscopic surgeries comes within the hospital’s plan to enhance the level of medical performance, given the advantages of these procedures in terms of faster patient recovery, reduced hospital stay, and minimized surgical complications. He added that the hospital administration continues to harness all available technical capabilities to support specialized departments and provide medical services befitting citizens.
