The Beni Suef University Council, chaired by Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, approved at its 253rd session the proposal of the Faculty of Earth Sciences to implement a field study on the impact of climatic factors on the educational process across all university faculties. The study will be conducted through the Faculty’s Water Studies and Research Center, aiming to promote environmental sustainability and improve the quality of the educational environment. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, as well as faculty deans and council members.
Dr. Tarek Ali affirmed the university’s full support for all initiatives that contribute to building a generation aware of environmental and societal issues. He noted that the study aims to measure key environmental indicators within classrooms, such as temperature, humidity, and light intensity, to assess the impact of climate change on the learning environment. The results will help integrate environmental considerations into the university’s educational policies and standardize environmental conditions across the campus, with the necessary support provided to implement the initiative in all faculties.
Dr. Essam Abdel Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Earth Sciences, highlighted that the initiative reflects the faculty’s commitment to its societal and scientific role in addressing climate change challenges by providing precise data to improve the educational environment and establish standardized criteria that ensure the comfort and safety of both students and academic staff.
