Beni Suef University Council Approves a Training Course Titled “The Role of Bioinformatics Databases in Medicinal, Aromatic, and Economic Plants”

The Beni Suef University Council, chaired by Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, approved at its 253rd session the proposal of the Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plant Research to hold a training course entitled “The Role of Bioinformatics Databases in Medicinal, Aromatic, and Economic Plants.” The course will be delivered by Dr. Mohamed Ali Abdullah, Researcher at the Desert Research Center, at the Biotechnology Research Laboratory of the Institute’s Medicinal and Aromatic Plants Department. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, along with faculty deans and council members.

Dr. Tarek Ali explained that the course is part of the university’s support for applied scientific research and aims to enhance the capabilities of young researchers in bioinformatics and the use of modern databases in the study of medicinal and aromatic plants with economic importance. He noted that the course will contribute to improving researchers’ efficiency and enabling them to employ advanced digital techniques in analyzing scientific data, supporting the university’s efforts in community service and sustainable development, in addition to promoting pharmaceutical and agricultural industries related to this group of plants.
