President of Beni Suef University Participates in the International “Pharma AI & CSV” Forum at the German International University in the New Administrative Capital

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, participated in the activities of the preliminary conference of the ISPE GAMP Middle East Community of Practice, affiliated with the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), which was organized by the German International University (GIU) in the New Administrative Capital, in cooperation with the GAMP Middle East Community of Practice, under the title:
 “Artificial Intelligence and Computer System Validation in the Pharmaceutical Industry (Pharma AI & CSV).”

The event was attended by Dr. Salim Abdel Nazer, President of the German International University; Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the German University; Dr. Samar Mansour, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Pharmacy at the German University; Dr. Reham El-Dehshan, Leader of the GAMP Community of Practice in the Middle East; Dr. Shahira El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Beni Suef University; in addition to high-level participation from senior officials of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and international experts.

Dr. Tarek Ali stated that the University’s participation in this exceptional event comes within the framework of keeping pace with the latest global trends in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to digital systems and artificial intelligence. He emphasized that the conference represents a vital platform for enhancing compliance with the requirements of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and international standards. He also pointed out the importance of the presence of international experts who contributed to the development of the ISPE GAMP 5 guidelines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), which opens new horizons for researchers and students in the field of industrial pharmacy.

The Acting President of the University further explained that the forum aims to support digital transformation and digital governance in the pharmaceutical industries, contributing to improving the efficiency of the Egyptian pharmaceutical product and enhancing its global competitiveness. On the sidelines of the forum, Dr. Tarek Ali discussed with Dr. Ashraf Mansour ways of strengthening joint cooperation between the two sides. He also conducted an extensive inspection tour of the German International University, which included the “Technology Corridor,” materials laboratories, the automotive and autonomous driving laboratory, the projects and industrial pharmacy area, and the robotics laboratory. Dr. Tarek Ali praised the technological and infrastructural development witnessed by the German International University.

For her part, Dr. Shahira El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Beni Suef University, expressed her pride in participating in this distinguished event that brings together academia and major pharmaceutical manufacturers. She affirmed that the Faculty is always keen to update its training pathways in line with the requirements of data integrity and artificial intelligence. She also commended the attendance of senior officials from the Egyptian Drug Authority, such as Dr. Yousry Ragab and Dr. Rasha Ziada, which strengthens the linkage between the educational and regulatory aspects to graduate pharmacists who are well qualified for the modern labor market.

It is worth mentioning that the conference featured opening remarks delivered by the President of the German International University, Dr. Reham El-Dehshan, and Frank Henrichmann, representing the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).
