Beni Suef University’s Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Organizes Educational Seminar on “The Role of the English Language in Advancing the Tourism Industry”

Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels organized an educational seminar entitled “English Language and the Advancement of the Egyptian Tourism Industry,” highlighting the art of dealing with tourists and the principles of international hospitality. The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Nahla Mohamed Helmy, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Heba Allah Sobhi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mahmoud Moawad, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; and Dr. Wael Mohamed Abdel Nabi, Director of the Divisions and Programs Unit at the Faculty. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Maged Nady, Director of the STEM International School for Outstanding Students in Beni Suef and former certified English language trainer at the Federation of Egyptian Tourism Chambers. The seminar was attended by students of the English Division.
Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that the university places great importance on organizing events that enhance students’ skills and connect them to the labor market. He noted that mastering foreign languages and possessing effective intercultural communication skills are fundamental pillars for advancing Egypt’s tourism sector, which the university prioritizes in its educational mission to graduate qualified professionals who represent a distinguished image of the Egyptian state.
Dr. Nahla Mohamed Helmy explained that the seminar addressed key topics, including the careful selection of hospitality expressions and appropriate welcoming phrases, as well as the effective use of body language that reflects professional and civilized conduct in tourism services. She expressed her appreciation to the organizers and praised the strong engagement of students, who reported significant benefit from the seminar and requested a series of advanced workshops on professional tourist interaction to better prepare them for immediate entry into the tourism and hospitality labor market upon graduation.
