Faculty of Nursing, Beni Suef University Organizes Celebration in Solidarity with “Our Young Heroes” on the Occasion of International Childhood Cancer Day

Under the auspices of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and in a humanitarian gesture reflecting the university’s leading societal role, the Faculty of Nursing, in cooperation with the Pediatric Nursing Department, organized a special celebration in solidarity with children battling cancer. The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Abo El Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Hanan El-Zeblawi Hassan, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Dr. Sherine El-Sayed Metwally, Vice Dean for Community Service; and Dr. Sahar Sedky Fahim, Head of the Pediatric Nursing Department.
Dr. Tarek Ali stated that this event reaffirms the university’s commitment to its social responsibility and to providing full support for health issues that concern Egyptian society. He emphasized that the university spares no effort in mobilizing all its capabilities to raise health awareness, particularly regarding childhood cancer, stressing that every child diagnosed with cancer deserves the best possible medical and psychological care to help them overcome this difficult stage.
Dr. Hanan El-Zeblawi Hassan affirmed that the celebration primarily aimed to raise community awareness about the importance of early detection of childhood cancer and to provide psychological and moral support to young fighters and their families, which directly contributes to improving recovery rates. She extended her appreciation to all organizers, highlighting the vital and foundational role of Pediatric Nursing in the journey of treatment and recovery, as it combines medical competence with emotional support for both the child and their family throughout the illness period.
