Article (14):

The student must be enrolled in any of the postgraduate diplomas:

Those with a bachelor’s degree from other colleges may be accepted into some diplomas as follows:

1- A person who has a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery with a grade of at least “good” is accepted to study with a diploma in biochemical analysis, or a bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences with a grade of “good” at least, or a bachelor’s degree in science specializing in biochemistry with a grade of “good” at least from One of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

2- A diploma in biotechnology is accepted for those who have a bachelor’s degree in science majoring in microbiology with a grade of at least “good” or a bachelor’s degree in engineering majoring in chemical engineering with a grade of at least “good” or a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences majoring in food industries with a grade of “good” At least from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

3- Anyone who holds a bachelor’s degree in science, specializing in botany or chemistry, with a grade of at least “good” from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, is accepted to study for a diploma in toxicology and forensic chemical analysis.

5- A person who has a bachelor’s degree in science, specializing in botany, with a grade of at least “good”, or a bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, specializing in plant production sciences, or specializing in general agricultural production, with a grade of “good” at least from one of the universities of the Republic of Egypt, is accepted to study for a diploma in medicinal plants. Arabic or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

6- A person who has a bachelor’s degree in science majoring in botany, chemistry or biochemistry with a grade of at least “good” is accepted to study with a diploma in food analysis, or a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science majoring in food science with a grade of “good” at least from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

7- Those who have a Bachelor’s degree in Science majoring in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry with a grade of at least “good” from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, are accepted to study for a diploma in Pharmaceutical Raw Materials Synthesis Technology.

8- Those who have a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery with a grade of at least “good” from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, are accepted to study with a diploma in pharmacology.

8.1 Regulations of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Postgraduate Studies

First: postgraduate diplomas

Article (14):

The student must be enrolled in any of the postgraduate diplomas:

First: To have a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences from any of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

Those with a bachelor’s degree from other colleges may be accepted into some diplomas as follows:

1- A person who has a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery with a grade of at least “good” is accepted to study with a diploma in biochemical analysis, or a bachelor’s degree in veterinary sciences with a grade of “good” at least, or a bachelor’s degree in science specializing in biochemistry with a grade of “good” at least from One of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

8- Those who have a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery with a grade of at least “good” from one of the universities of the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university, are accepted to study with a diploma in pharmacology.

Article (15):

The College Council, based on the proposal of the relevant department councils and the approval of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee, determines the number and priorities of students who are accepted in each diploma.

Article (16):

The duration of study for any postgraduate diploma is one calendar year, and the College Council approves the distribution of study hours for the various courses in each diploma, specifying what is allocated for theoretical lessons and what is allocated for practical lessons.

Article (17):

Before allowing him to enter the exam, the student must do a research project in which he collects all that has been written about the research point in the scientific fields and periodicals up to the date of submitting the research.

Article (18):

Postgraduate diploma exams are held twice a year, in November and April, and the student is allowed to retake the exam in the course in which he failed, excluding the other courses in which he previously succeeded.

Article (19):

A student may not remain enrolled for more than two years unless with an excuse accepted by the College Council.

Article (20):

The student who wishes to take the exam must register his name at least one month before the date of the exam, and he is not authorized to take the exam unless his attendance rate is not less than (70%) in theoretical lectures and practical lessons in all diploma subjects. .

Article (21):

The following tables show the courses of study in each diploma. The College Council determines, after taking the opinion of the councils of the relevant departments, the topics to be taught in each course. The attached tables also show the written, oral and practical exams, the maximum score for each exam, and the duration of the written exam for each course.

Article (22):

The College Council may organize the aforementioned courses in the form of integrated study units, and it is also permissible to add other courses or delete any elective courses, within the limits of the prescribed hours.

Article (23):

For the student to succeed, the score he obtains in the written exam must not be less than 30% of the score allocated for the exam.

Article (24):

The student’s success in the subjects in the general grade is estimated by one of the following estimates:

Excellent with 85% or more of the total marks

Very good from 75% to less than 85% of the total marks

Good from 65% to less than 75% of the total marks

Acceptable from 60% to less than 65% of the total marks

The student's failure ranged from 30% to less than 60% of the total marks

Weak from 30% to less than 60% of the total score

Very weak Less than 30% of the compound score

Second: Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Article (25):

The student must be enrolled for a master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences:

To have a bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical sciences with a grade of at least "good" from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

Students may be enrolled for a master’s degree from among those who have obtained an “pass” grade in the bachelor’s degree, provided that they obtain one of the specialization diplomas

Article (26):

To obtain a master's degree in pharmaceutical sciences, the student must:

A- To pass the examination successfully in the academic courses

B- To conduct research on a subject approved by the university based on the proposal of the Department Council and the approval of the Graduate Studies and Research Committee and the College Council for a period of not less than one and a half years from the date of registration.

C- To present, after his success in the academic courses, the results of his research in a letter accepted by the judging committee, and to discuss it publicly.

Article (27):

The exam is held in the academic courses twice a year, in November and April.

The College Council, based on the proposal of the concerned department councils and the approval of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee, may deny the student from taking the exam if his attendance rate is less than (75%).

Article (28):

The subject of the research may not be registered before six months after the student has registered for the study based on the supervisor’s recommendation.

If the student does not register the subject of the research within a maximum period of two years from the date of the College Council’s approval of the enrollment, his enrollment will be canceled after taking the opinion of the concerned department council.

Article (29):

The tables attached to the regulations show the academic courses for the master's degree, the number of exam study hours, and the exam grades.

Third: A distinguished course for each student within 50 hours

The department council determines the format of the exam

Article (30):

The student’s success in the subjects and in the general grade is estimated by one of the following estimates:

   Excellent with 85% or more of the total marks

Very good from 75% to less than 85% of the total marks

Good from 65% to less than 75% of the total marks

Acceptable from 60% to less than 65% of the total marks

As for the student’s failure, it shall be assessed by one of the following two assessments:

Weak from 30% to less than 60% of the total score

Very weak Less than 30% of the compound score

Article (32):

To obtain the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences, the student must:

1- To carry out innovative research in the subject in which he was registered for at least two Gregorian years from the date of approval of the College Council for registration.

2- To present the results of his research in a letter accepted by the jury, and to discuss it publicly.

Third: Doctor of Philosophy degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences

Article (31):

To register a student for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences, a student must have a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences or two postgraduate diplomas in Pharmaceutical Sciences with at least a good grade, provided that at least one of them is in the field of specialization from a university in the Arab Republic of Egypt, or an equivalent degree Any of them from another scientific institute recognized by the university.

Article (32):

To obtain the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences, the student must:

1. To carry out innovative research in the subject in which he was registered for at least two Gregorian years from the date of approval of the College Council for registration.

2. To present the results of his research in the letter of the ruling committee and to discuss it publicly

Common provisions for master's and doctoral degrees

Article (33):

The student submits a request for enrollment or registration to the college for presentation to the concerned department council to express an opinion and determine the subject of the research and the study program. Then, after completing all the papers, the matter is presented to the Graduate Studies and Research Committee and then the college council for approval.

Article (34):

The title of the thesis shall be specified at least six months prior to its submission, and the Judging and Discussion Committee may amend the title of the thesis without prejudice to the topic of the research.

Article (35):

The College Council, upon the proposal of the supervisor and the approval of the Council of the concerned department and the Postgraduate Studies and Research Committee of the College, may authorize the student to carry out some of his research in a scientific institute or technical department recognized by the university.

Article (36):

The judging committee may test the student written, oral or scientific on topics related to his research if it deems so.

Article (37):

If the student does not submit his thesis within five years from the date of his registration, the subject of the research, the registration will be dropped unless the College Council decides to maintain the registration for another specified period for another renewable year based on the supervisor’s report after taking the opinion of the concerned department council.

Article (38):

The College Council may suspend the student's registration for a certain period if he presents an acceptable excuse that prevents him from continuing his research. The period of suspension is not counted within the periods stipulated in Article (37).

Article (39):

The student's registration shall be forfeited in one of the following cases:

1- If his supervision reports were not satisfactory during his registration period.

2- If the referee committee rejects the thesis twice in a row.
