Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the activities of the Fifth Scientific Conference of the Department of Information Science at the Faculty of Arts were launched
The Department of Information Science at the Faculty of Arts, which coincides with the department’s celebration of 40 years since its establishment, was supervised by Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawjoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service Affairs, Dr. Hamada Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hanan Suleiman, Vice President of the National University for Innovation Affairs, Dr. Azza Gohary, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr. Maha Ahmed, Head of the Department of Information Science at the Faculty, and Dr. Rehab Youssef The Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs and Dr. Houta Hussein, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, were present, along with a distinguished group of leading figures in the field, heads of library and information science departments from across the country, faculty members, administrators, and students
Dr. Tarek Ali emphasized that the continued contributions of the Department of Information Science over four decades reflect the long-standing tradition of Beni Suef University and its pioneering role in graduating specialized professionals who contribute to building a knowledge-based society. He noted that the Fifth Scientific Conference represents a vital platform for exchanging expertise between leading figures in the field and younger generations, stressing the university's full support for scientific events that integrate academic aspects with technological advancements in information technology, thus serving the development and digital transformation of Egypt
For her part, Dr. Azza Johari, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, expressed the faculty's pride in this historic celebration, emphasizing that the Department of Information Science is one of the faculty's cornerstones. She thanked the university administration for its generous support and all the pioneers in the field who contributed to establishing this prestigious department. She noted that the faculty is always keen to develop its academic programs to keep pace with the latest international standards, ensuring the excellence of its graduates in the local and regional job markets
