Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Arts organized a scientific field trip for third-level students of the Surveying and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program to Wadi El Rayan Protected Area. The trip aimed to familiarize students with geomorphological features and the natural characteristics of the region, within the framework of supporting the educational and training process in the Department of Geography. The activity was held under the supervision of Dr. Hamada Mahmoud, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Azza Gohary, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Rehab Youssef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Emad El Banna, Associate Professor and Program Coordinator; Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahman; and Dr. Sherif Mamdouh.
Dr. Tarek explained that the field study included training students to link theoretical concepts with practical application through analyzing geographical and environmental features within the reserve. He emphasized that such activities contribute to developing students’ cultural and intellectual awareness and encourage research and exploration, thereby supporting their orientation toward academic and cognitive excellence.
Dr. Azza Gohary affirmed that these visits play a significant role in refining students’ field skills and enhancing their ability to achieve an applied understanding of their specialization, contributing to the preparation of scientifically and practically qualified graduates in the fields of geography and geographic information systems.
