Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Education organized an awareness seminar entitled “Enhancing Consumer Awareness among University Students.” The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Aboul Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Osama Mahmoud Korany, Dean of the Faculty of Education; and Dr. Ahmed Fikry Bahnassawy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Gomaa Saeed Tehami, Professor of Foundations of Education and Director of the Human Resources Development Center at Beni Suef University, and Dr. Walid Mohamed Abdel Halim, Professor of Economics of Education at the Faculty of Education.
Dr. Tarek explained that the seminar aims to enhance students’ awareness of the importance of sound financial planning, rationalizing consumption, and achieving a balance between needs and resources in light of rapidly evolving economic challenges. This contributes to preparing a generation capable of making informed and responsible financial decisions. The seminar addressed several topics related to the concepts of rational consumption and personal resource management, within the framework of the university’s commitment to building well-rounded student personalities and strengthening their societal awareness.
Dr. Osama Mahmoud affirmed that consumer awareness is no longer an option but has become an imperative necessity for building a more stable society, pointing to the importance of adopting positive behaviors that support family and community stability.
The seminar witnessed notable engagement from students, as discussions reflected their awareness of the importance of the issue and their eagerness to apply the concepts of rational consumption in their daily lives.
