President of Beni Suef University inaugurates the development work of the Center for Microanalysis and Environmental Research at the Faculty of Science

Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, inaugurated the development work of the Center for Microanalysis, Environmental Research and Community Service at the Faculty of Science after providing it with a set of new, modern devices that the Titan Group donated to the laboratory within the framework of joint cooperation between the university and the group and within the framework of the development plan of the laboratory.

  In the presence of Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Sayed, Dean of the College of Mass Communication, Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary-General of the University, Engineer / Hossam Taha, Director of Beni Suef Titan Cement Factory, Mr. Tony Othman, Director of Public and External Relations Department of Titan Group, and the college’s deputies and faculty members.

After the opening, Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan inspected the development work inside the center and the new equipment that was provided in the laboratory, and listened to a detailed explanation of the development components, including the Auto Hematology Analyzer, which has a role in analyzing the complete blood count (CBC), and measuring the percentage of hemoglobin in the blood (anemia) and Red blood cells and white blood cells, the immune system, platelets, and a blood hormone device to measure the concentration of various hormones in the blood to determine if there is an abnormality, increase or decrease, in order to receive the necessary medical care such as thyroid hormones, fertility hormones, indicators of prostate tumors, a device for measuring blood proteins to determine the extent of inflammation in the body or not, and to determine the degree of inflammation to develop a treatment protocol and follow it up, such as the CRP protein. The cumulative blood sugar analysis can be measured to know the average blood sugar for the three months preceding the analysis.

Prof. Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Dean of the College of Science, explained that the center consists of three main units: the scanning and transmission electron microscope unit to serve researchers within the university from faculty members and supporting staff, and the water research unit to keep pace with the state’s strategic plan and as an effective participation of the university to address the phenomenon of climate change, in addition to the microanalysis unit, which contains a group of devices such as a spectrophotometer, a blood fluidity measuring device, and others.

Mr. Tony Othman, Director of Public and External Relations Department at the Titan Group, said that there is a joint cooperation protocol between Beni Suef University and the Titan Group to prepare students for the labor market and reduce the gap between university education and the needs of the labor market, and that the Titan Group donated a set of devices inside the analysis center of the College of Science as a community participation adopted by the group within Beni Suef Governorate, praising the great support between Beni Suef University, headed by Prof. Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of the University, and Engineer / Khaled Badawi, Chairman of the Group’s Board of Directors, who is interested in permanent and ongoing communication with Egyptian universities.
