“No to drugs...yes to life” an awareness initiative at Beni Suef University

Under the patronage of Dr. Mansour Hassan, President of Beni Suef University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized today, under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Al-Maraghi, Vice President for Sector Affairs, and in cooperation with the (Students for Egypt) family, an awareness initiative under the title “No to Drugs...Yes to Life.” In the presence of Dr. Ahmed Farouk, the general coordinator of the Students for Egypt family, and Dr. Mohamed Othman, the general coordinator of the initiative, in the presence of an elite group of psychologists, lawyers, media scholars, and scholars from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, amid a remarkable presence of students.

The university president explained that the aim of the initiative is to shed light on the dangers resulting from the spread of drugs among young people, and the importance of raising the level of awareness among members of society about the health and economic dangers of drugs to the individual and society, due to their harm to the mind and body, in addition to the fact that drugs lead the addicted person to commit many crimes due to lack of awareness.

The initiative’s activities included a number of awareness lectures by Dr. Sameh Fikry, Dean of Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Dr. Hani Hamed, Vice Dean of the College of Human Medicine, Dr. Mohamed Taha, a mental health teacher at the College of Medicine, Dr. Ali Abdel Fattah at the College of Law, and Dr. Khaled Abdel Wahab, a professor in the Department of Psychology at the College of Arts, in addition to a speech by His Eminence Sheikh Reda Abdel Halim, Director General of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and all lectures were transmitted in sign language.
