Beni-Suef University Council Approves Organization of Awareness Seminars on the Dangers of Drugs and Their Serious Consequences

The Beni-Suef University Council, chaired by Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of the University, approved during its 249th session the organization of a series of awareness seminars across the university’s faculties to highlight the dangers of drugs and their severe impact on individuals and society. These will take the form of programs, meetings, workshops, and interactive seminars.

The session was attended by Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, faculty deans, and council members.

The university president explained that these seminars fall within the university’s educational and awareness role and its social responsibility to protect youth from falling into the trap of addiction, stressing that drugs pose a grave threat to young people’s energy, physical and mental health, and negatively affect the path of development.

He further noted that the seminars will feature lectures delivered by a distinguished group of physicians, specialists, and experts from various fields, aiming to raise students’ awareness of the dimensions of the problem and ways to prevent it.

Dr. Tarek Ali affirmed that the university is keen to activate educational activities that promote positive values, build an aware and resilient student personality, and strengthen the ability to face challenges. He stressed the importance of joint efforts between educational and community institutions to combat this dangerous phenomenon.
