Beni-Suef University President Attends the Closing Ceremony of the Egyptian-French Forum for Scientific and Academic Cooperation in the Presence of the Minister of Higher Education and the French Ambassador

Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, attended the closing ceremony of the Egyptian-French Forum for Scientific and Academic Cooperation, held in the presence of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education, and Mr. Éric Chevallier, French Ambassador to Cairo, along with several presidents of Egyptian universities. The university delegation included Dr. Hany Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Shahira El-Menshawy, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Hebatallah Sobhy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels; Dr. Abeer Sayed Moawad, Director of the University Performance Development Center; and Dr. Eman Kandil, Director of the International Cooperation Office.
During the event, Dr. Ayman Ashour highlighted the deep-rooted historical relations between Egypt and France in higher education and scientific research. He affirmed Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cultural and scientific cooperation with France, expressing appreciation for France’s support of Egypt and its endorsement of Dr. Khaled El-Anany’s nomination for the position of UNESCO Director-General, as well as its backing of peace efforts that culminated in the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit.
The Minister added that French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Egypt last April, during which 42 agreements were signed between Egyptian and French universities, marked the beginning of a new phase of strategic partnership between the two countries. This partnership focuses on academic exchange and the development of joint programs. He explained that these agreements have led to several collaborative projects across various fields, reflecting the evolution of cooperation toward a long-term institutional partnership. He also pointed to the recent meetings held with the French side in Cairo and during his latest visit to France, which included prominent institutions specializing in hospitality, culinary arts, computer science, and interactive education.
For his part, Dr. Tarek Ali stated that Beni-Suef University’s participation in the forum reflects its strong commitment to enhancing international partnerships, especially with France, with which Egypt shares deep academic and cultural ties. He emphasized that this forum serves as a strategic platform for exchanging expertise, signing agreements, and launching joint research projects. A total of 42 agreements and 80 joint projects were announced between the two sides. He added that such events help build bridges between Egyptian and French universities and open new horizons for students and researchers to engage with the latest scientific developments, thereby enhancing the quality of education and aligning with the goals of sustainable development.
