Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, the Faculty of Nursing organized an awareness activity to celebrate World Arthritis Day, which is observed globally every October. The event was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Hanan El-Zablawi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing.
The activity included visiting faculty members and staff in their offices and workplaces, distributing awareness brochures about the disease, and responding to questions from employees and students regarding prevention and treatment methods, with the aim of promoting health awareness and encouraging attention to joint health.
Arthritis is one of the most common diseases affecting the joints and surrounding tissues, with over one hundred different types. Symptoms vary depending on the case but often include joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, which may lead to limited mobility in advanced stages. Treatment depends on the type and severity of arthritis and may involve medication, physiotherapy, and lifestyle modifications.
This activity reflects the Faculty of Nursing’s role in health education and community service and the university’s commitment to supporting global health initiatives and spreading awareness among staff and students.
