Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, inaugurated today the activities of the 100 Days of Sports initiative, in the presence of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawjoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service, Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for Student Education, Dr. Eid Abu Bakr, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, Mr. Mohamed Selim, Secretary General of the University, and Captain Mohamed Farouk, Director General of Youth Welfare. The activities began with a student sports march that toured the university campus to raise awareness of the importance of sports.

The university president explained that the initiative aims to promote awareness of the importance of physical activity and fitness among students. The events that the university will organize in support of the initiative include launching an integrated sports league and various competitions in different games and sports. Students from all university colleges are scheduled to participate in these competitions, with the aim of expanding the base of sports practice and developing student talents.

Dr. Hamada Mohammed pointed out that the university’s support for the “100 Days of Sports” initiative comes within the framework of its comprehensive community and educational role, which is not limited to academic excellence only, but extends to include building the student’s integrated personality in terms of health and physical fitness and spreading the culture of physical fitness that positively reflects on the academic achievement and mental health of students.

Captain Mohamed Farouk pointed out that the Youth Welfare Department has a plan aimed at making sports an essential part of university life, through organizing leagues and competitions with the participation of students from all colleges, with the aim of discovering talents and promoting a spirit of competition.

It is worth noting that the first day of the initiative witnessed the final match of the Government Interests League between the University team and the Health Directorate, which ended with the University team winning over the Health Directorate in penalty kicks.
