Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, announced the first microinjection procedure performed at the Specialized Medical Center in the university hospitals, after the unit was re-equipped and developed to keep pace with the latest medical technologies in the field of assisted reproduction This was under the supervision of Dr. Hani Hamed, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Beni Suef University Hospitals, Dr. Emad El-Banna, Executive Director of University Hospitals, Dr. Iman Zain El-Abedin, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Mohamed Nagi, Consultant Obstetrician in the Department, Dr. Hamada Ashri, Director of the Specialized Medical Center, and Mr/ Mohamed Selim, General Secretary of the University
The university president explained that the primary goal of offering this service within university hospitals is to alleviate the financial burden on patients, as it is provided at nominal fees not exceeding 40% of the cost in private centers. This allows a greater number of families to realize their dream of having children. He explained that the IVF unit has recently witnessed a surge in patient demand due to the expansion of its modern equipment and the implementation of precise and customized treatment protocols tailored to each individual case. He emphasized that these technological and therapeutic advancements have directly contributed to the increased success rates achieved within the unit and have brought joy to a large number of families
In a related context, the university president revealed details of the first successful IVF procedure since the unit resumed operations. He explained that it was performed on a 30-year-old patient who had previously experienced unsuccessful attempts at other centers. He noted that the patient received close and continuous monitoring within the unit for three weeks before the egg retrieval procedure, which was completely successful, culminating in the realization of her dream of motherhood.
