Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, announced today that Academic Test No. 157 will be held on December 22nd. This came during his chairing of the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Specialized Center for Languages and Translation, in the presence of Dr. Marwa Mahmoud, Director of the Center, and members of the Board.
During the meeting, the proposal submitted by the Center was discussed regarding the introduction of two pathways for passing the English Academic Test. The first option allows researchers to take the academic test directly without a preparatory course. The second option involves enrolling in a preparatory course before taking the exam, with the final grade divided as follows: 30% for the course, provided that attendance is no less than 90%, and 70% for the test performance. The course aims to enhance basic English language skills, improve researchers’ proficiency in using English for academic purposes, and increase their chances of successfully passing the test on the first attempt.
The meeting also reviewed the Center’s key activities during the past four months, which included the translation of a number of diverse documents, organizing an online lecture to review academic tests with the participation of researchers from inside and outside the university, and launching a German language training course as part of the President of the Republic’s initiative to develop youth skills in foreign languages (English, German, French, Chinese), in cooperation with the Directorate of Youth and Sports in the governorate.
The meeting further highlighted the organization of an introductory day by the Languages Center for students of the French Language Division at the Faculty of Law, aimed at promoting the Center and presenting its activities, courses, and services. A placement test was also administered for students of the French Language Division to provide courses tailored to their needs.
