Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni-Suef University, announced today that the university is ranked among the top 400 universities worldwide, achieving the 151–200 global ranking in Veterinary Sciences, and the 301–400 global ranking in both Pharmaceutical Sciences and Agricultural Sciences, according to the Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2025.
The University President stated that the Shanghai Academic Subjects Ranking (GRAS) is based on a methodology that evaluates universities by academic disciplines (such as Civil Engineering, Pharmacy, Physics, etc.), assessing each discipline independently. This approach allows universities that excel in specific fields to appear in advanced global positions. The ranking relies on five precise performance indicators: the number of research papers published in top-tier journals (Q1), the citation impact of the university’s research compared to the global average in the same discipline, the percentage of international research collaboration, the quality of publications in top journals, and the prestigious academic awards received by researchers in the field.
Dr. Sama El-Daq, Director of the Office of International Ranking and Sustainable Development, added that the university’s global and national positions in the Shanghai 2025 Ranking are as follows:
Veterinary Sciences: ranked 151–200 globally, 7th nationally
Pharmaceutical Sciences: ranked 301–400 globally, 7th nationally
Agricultural Sciences: ranked 301–400 globally, 12th nationally
