"Together through sports we confront violence" - an awareness seminar at Beni Suef University

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the university's Anti-Violence Unit organized an awareness seminar entitled "Together Through Sports We Confront Violence," in cooperation with the Faculty of Sports Sciences, as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign. The seminar was held under the supervision of Dr. Abu El-Hassan Abdel-Mawgoud, Vice President for Environmental Affairs and Community Service; Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mahmoud Ragai, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Samia Farid, Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs and Community Service; Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; and Dr. Ghada Atef, Director of the Anti-Violence Unit. Also in attendance were Dr. Jumana Ramadan, Law Lecturer and Deputy Director of the Unit, and Mr. Sami William, representative of the Better Life Association for Development and Training.
Dr. Tariq Ali explained that these events are part of the university's efforts to raise awareness and promote a culture of societal rejection of all forms of violence. He emphasized the crucial role of academic institutions in supporting humanitarian and social issues that directly affect young people. The seminar addressed various forms of violence and ways to combat them, as well as showcasing the role of the university's unit and the services it provides to students. The seminar also highlighted the effective role of sports in reducing violent behavior and promoting mental and social well-being. The day's events included an interactive theatrical performance addressing the dangers of child marriage, aiming to raise community awareness of the seriousness of this phenomenon and its negative consequences.
The seminar was held amidst a remarkable interaction from male and female students, reflecting their awareness and interest in societal issues, and confirming the university’s continued efforts to confront violence in all its forms through awareness and programs that support positive values.
