Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Youth Welfare Department at the Faculty of Earth Sciences organized a field visit to the orphanage This is within the framework of enhancing the university’s social responsibility and deepening the values ??of human solidarity and social cohesion among students, under the supervision of Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawjoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Essam Abdel-Rahman, Dean of the College. This was in the presence of Dr. Fathi Abu Al-Saud, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and a number of faculty members, administrators, and students of the college
The university president explained that the university's role extends beyond academics and research to include shaping students' character and fostering a sense of giving towards different segments of society. He emphasized that supporting and caring for orphaned children is a top priority in the university's community engagement plan, noting that such visits contribute to providing psychological and moral support to the children and effectively integrate them into the fabric of society
For his part, Dr. Essam Abdel Rahman, Dean of the College, expressed his delight at the spirit of solidarity shown by the students during the visit, emphasizing that the College of Earth Sciences is always keen to organize events that extend students' experience beyond the academic sphere to the human sphere. He explained that the visit included distributing gifts and organizing entertainment for the children, creating an atmosphere of joy and happiness. He stressed the College's commitment to continuing to organize such initiatives that serve the goals of sustainable development and support social solidarity
