Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Science for Special Needs organized a seminar entitled: “Self-Esteem as an Approach to Building Personal Strategy,” within the framework of the university’s interest in developing psychological awareness and enhancing students’ capabilities. This came under the supervision of Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Heba Abu El-Nil, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mahmoud El-Shahawy, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Rashdan, Director of the Measurement and Evaluation Unit at the Faculty. The seminar was presented by Dr. Tarif Shawky, Professor of Psychology and former Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, amidst a distinguished attendance of faculty members and assistant staff, in addition to researchers and graduate students.
The seminar addressed a range of important topics related to the concept of self-esteem and its impact on building an individual's personal strategy, and the importance of developing self-esteem as one of the essential foundations for building a balanced personality capable of making decisions and adapting to life's changes. It witnessed rich scientific discussions that reflected the college's keenness to support academic activities and promote a culture of constructive dialogue. The need to continue organizing such seminars to spread psychological awareness and support personal and professional development was also emphasized.
At the conclusion of the events, Dr. Tarif Shawqi was honored and awarded the college shield in recognition of his scientific contributions and outstanding efforts in enriching the symposium.
