The Faculty of Development Social Service in Beni Suef is implementing a campaign to rationalize energy consumption, targeting 250 institutions within the governorate.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Social Service and Development began implementing and monitoring the activities of an awareness campaign to rationalize energy consumption within and outside the university community, through field training for fourth-year students in various training institutions. This came under the supervision of Dr. Hamada Mohamed, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Hindawi Abdel-Lahi Hassan, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Fadl Mohamed Ahmed, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Elham Naeem, General Supervisor of Fourth Year Training, Dr. Mosaad El-Desouki, Director of the Field Training Unit, and with the participation of the field training team.
Dr. Tariq Ali explained that the campaign targets about 250 community institutions, within the framework of promoting awareness of the importance of rational use of energy, and spreading the culture of sustainability within the community, which contributes to supporting the state’s efforts to achieve sustainable development. He pointed out that the campaign included a number of institutions, including civil associations, care institutions, hospitals, youth care departments in a number of university colleges, the National Council for Women, in addition to various community institutions, which reflects the breadth of the initiative and the diversity of its fields.
The activities carried out by the students were varied, including organizing awareness seminars on the importance of rationalizing energy consumption, with the aim of spreading positive behaviors in the use of energy within different environments. This campaign comes within the framework of the community role of Beni Suef University, and its keenness to prepare its students to be active elements in serving the community, and able to contribute to spreading awareness of environmental and developmental issues.
