The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Beni Suef University organizes a student conference to discuss the dangers of ticks to animal health in Egypt.

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine organized a joint student conference between the Department of Parasitology and Infectious Diseases at the Faculty, entitled:Cattle ticks and tick-borne pathogens as major threats to animal health in Egypt “Ticks in livestock and tick-borne pathogens as major threats to animal health in Egypt” under the supervision of Dr. Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Abu Al-Hassan Abdel-Mawjoud, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Khaled Al-Nasser, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Narmin Atef Al-Shimi, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Arafa Musharraf, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs.
Dr. Tariq Ali emphasized that organizing such student conferences reflects the university’s keenness to support applied scientific activities, develop students’ research skills and link them to vital community issues, noting that the conference topic is one of the important topics that affect the livestock sector and food security in Egypt.
The university places great importance on encouraging cooperation between different scientific departments, which contributes to the exchange of experiences and the production of outstanding scientific research that serves the community. The university appreciates the efforts made by the College of Veterinary Medicine in organizing this conference, and affirms the university’s continued support for all scientific activities that contribute to preparing qualified personnel capable of facing challenges in various fields.
The conference featured lectures by Dr. Hussein Abdel-Aal, Professor of Infectious Diseases, Dr. Ahmed Mamdouh El-Sherif, Professor of Infectious Diseases, Dr. Shawky Mohamed Abu El-Hadid, Professor of Parasitology, and Dr. Walid Arafa, Professor of Parasitology at the college.
The conference was attended by a large number of faculty members of the college, veterinarians who are graduates of the college, those working in various fields of veterinary medicine, and a large number of final-year students of the college.
