**Beni Suef University Delegation Visits the Alexandria Naval Base to Enhance Students’ National Awareness and Sense of Belonging**

Under the patronage of Dr. Tarek Ali, Acting President of Beni Suef University, and in line with the University’s commitment to raising students’ awareness, fostering national belonging, and introducing them to the achievements and advanced capabilities of the Egyptian Armed Forces and their vital role in safeguarding the nation’s resources and protecting its sanctities,

the University organized, in cooperation with the Popular and Military Defense Forces Command, the Department of Military Education at the University, and the Faculties of Navigation Sciences and Space Technology, Technology and Education, and Law, a field visit to the Alexandria Naval Base. The visit was attended by Colonel Khaled Nabil, Director of the Military Education Department, along with a number of faculty members and a delegation of university students.

Dr. Tarek explained that this visit comes as part of the University’s efforts to instill national values and familiarize students with the role of the Egyptian Armed Forces in protecting national security and carrying out all assigned missions under various circumstances. He also emphasized the importance of witnessing firsthand the achievements realized within the Egyptian state and conveying the true image from the ground. This is made possible through the continuous directives of the Egyptian political leadership to enhance naval armament to the highest standards of quality and precision, reflecting the greatness of the Egyptian state, while strengthening national awareness and deepening ties with the valiant Egyptian Armed Forces and Navy.

The visit included an inspection tour aboard several modern frigates recently commissioned into service, where students received detailed briefings on their manufacturing stages within Egyptian naval shipyards, their advanced combat capabilities, and their role in strengthening defense capacities and securing maritime borders. The tour also covered a naval supply vessel and a shipbuilding hangar, allowing students to closely observe production lines and the latest naval military manufacturing technologies.

Students expressed their pride in the high level of professionalism and the remarkable development in the capabilities of the Egyptian Navy, affirming that what they witnessed reflects the tremendous efforts made to safeguard the nation and its resources.

For his part, Colonel Khaled Nabil, Director of the Military Education Department at Beni Suef University, stated that this visit is part of an integrated plan to enhance national awareness among youth and connect them with the reality of their armed forces. He pointed out that the Egyptian Navy is experiencing unprecedented progress in military manufacturing and continuous modernization of defense systems, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a leading regional and international naval power.

The visit also included a seminar on the role of the Navy, featuring a documentary film highlighting the development of naval forces in the modern era, including the inauguration of the July 3 Naval Base, visits to newly commissioned vessels at the Alexandria Naval Base, and a tour of ship and boat maintenance hangars.

Naval officials also guided the students through an informative and interactive tour on the Egyptian Navy and the country’s maritime borders. They clarified that the role of the naval base is not limited to military functions but also encompasses humanitarian and social responsibilities, such as rescuing irregular migrants, delivering aid to disaster-stricken countries, and protecting gas fields and commercial shipping.
